It's the Third Thursday of the month. David was a man of few words this month, mostly because he is knackered out by baby Max!

David auditions for Scrubs but was told they'd filled the role of cleaner

Well, that was quite a year... It is curious how the days go by so fast yet January seems like such a damned long time ago. It’s been a busy one for us and in true schedule-filling style we thought we’d give you a little synopsis of ‘la dolce vita’ at Codegent in the year 2010.
The New Year heralded the birth of the Codegent Apps team, headed up by Mark and Luke, to focus on the development of web applications. And they’ve been busy bees, launching webcamsnapper (as seen on Brizzly, Twitpic, Daily Booth), Twilert and Twitbooth and developing getDash which is due for launch in early January. We even brought Dustin Curtis over from the States to work with us on the interface development of getDash back in March.
Mark has also been making his voice heard around the globe, invited to attend South by South-West in March as part of the UK Digital Mission. He’s also been out and about in London, speaking at live events and hobnobbing with the bright young things of the internet.

On the agency side there have been launches a-plenty for clients old and new: a few stand outs include sites for the British Library, 4 for the Mental Health Foundation, The Hoxton and Searcys. We’ve run Facebook campaigns for Pepsi and built a healthy collection of iPhone and iPad Apps: you can get a bit more info on of this work on our portfolio. It’s also been another year of awards, with Tepilo and The Hoxton picking up silverware in the w3 Awards and nominations in the BIMAs.
We’ve been pretty busy too on the staff front with people coming and going. Lauren packed her bags and went off travelling, whilst Aidan finally caved in and joined us full-time along with Nor, Panu, Bruna, Agnieszka, Michael & Joseph – quite the band of merry men! The office is starting to get a bit full and it won’t be too long before we need to start thinking about a new home.

There have been weddings (Mr and Mrs Kane and Mr and Mrs Tangnoi), babies (David and Jane – due in about a week), a new swanky office in Bangkok and I got another bike.
So Father Time marches on. Au revoir 2010, I think you could say it has been a successful one. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
It's the Third Thursday of the month. Mark is full of snot, so Nick stood up to the plate for the video. As usual we try and do it one 'take' - it kind of makes it a bit more real that way .... (ahem).

It's the Third Thursday of the month. A slightly less rambling video than normal and full of Celebration! (please excuse the potty mouth towards the end)

This week we found out that we had won two W3 Awards for...
The W3s are up there with the best of them. They're an international industry award and we beat off strong competition in both categories.
And as if our heads couldn't grow any bigger we received an email to let us know that both The Hoxton and Tepilo have also made it through to the final shortlist of the BIMA Awards. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 25th November. We merely need to beat the likes of Nike to win :)
We did it again: this time for Tepilo. The company that we started last year with TV's Sarah Beeny has been ranked as a top start-up business by Smarta.
A judging panel that included Dragons Den's Deborah Meaden and the Founder of Bebo, Michael Birch, has ranked our property selling website as one of its top 100 in their inaugural awards.
According to the blurb:
"The Smarta 100 is the ultimate business accolade, recognizing the UK’s smartest small businesses. Smarta.com has uncovered remarkable companies who have gone the extra mile to differentiate themselves from the market or found clever ways to compete, from their marketing plan to their ethical stance. The result is a fascinating insight into the unique business ideas that are thriving in the current economic climate. The finalists proved to the judges that they have what it takes to run a successful venture, from spotting a new opportunity to making it a reality."
Tepilo really has gone from strength to strength since we launched it in the summer of 2009 and we've got some great initiatives that will be revealed this year. Not just a pretty face...
Great news at codegent towers this week as we learned that we had won not one, but two Silver W3 Awards for our work on 40|30 at the Gherkin!
This was in addition to the FITC award and Webby nomination that we also received for this project. Champagne corks all round :)
No sooner had the Alka-Seltzer kicked in then we heard that Tepilo had been shortlisted for The Good Web Guide Website of the Year award. Fingers crossed for that one and thanks to everyone who voted for us.
Is that a Jeroboam of champagne in your pocket or are you just pleased to see us?!!
Last night codegent scooped the FITC Award for Motion Graphics for our work with 40|30 at The Gherkin.
We beat off some really strong competition to win this award as we were short-listed with Coca-Cola and Warner Brothers so a huge congratulations to the codegent team for an amazing job – it makes me really proud!
Next up: the Webbys! You can help us put our trophy cabinet under further strain as there is also People’s Choice Award - you can cast your vote at http://pv.webbyawards.com. Our nomination section is Website » Ballot » Marketplace » Restaurant or click this link to go direct (you have to login first).
I'm off to iron my tux...
Wow! We are one of only a few UK based agencies to be included in this year's prestigious Webby Awards for our work on 40|30 at The Gherkin.
Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet.
"Nominees like Codegent are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of the Webby Awards. "It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the nearly 10,000 entries we received this year."
In a similar vein to our FITC Award nomination, we also eligible to win a Webby People's Voice Award, which is voted online by the global community. From now until 30 April, you can cast your vote at http://pv.webbyawards.com.

I can't believe it's the second time I am asking this in a month but if you could take a few minutes out to vote for us then I think you improve your chances of a place in Heaven ever so slightly :)
It's an amazing time for us right now and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate our 5th birthday on 1 May! We are so proud of the team that worked on this project.
We fly out to Toronto on Monday for the FITC awards...
